Dopp Kit Essentials

When packing for an overnight, a romantic weekend trip or even a longer vacation, having a ready-to-go Dopp kit will eliminate that last-minute frenzy
- Sean Craig
If you’re like me, you travel for business or pleasure at least once a month. Even if just for an overnight to visit friends, the first thing you reach for is generally the last thing you’re thinking about, a Dopp kit. The best thing to do is keep a well-stocked kit at the ready. It will save you time and you won’t find you’re missing something critical, like a razor, when you are on the road.
First, get yourself a good Dopp kit – our preference is John Allan’s leather Travel Roll. It’s got the compartments you’ll need for those essentials.
It also comes stocked with some of the things you’ll want: shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, shave cream and a face moisturizer.
You need to pack any over-the-counter drug remedies, a pain reliever, gas-relief tablets and a multivitamin. You need a disposable razor, floss, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a small bottle of mouthwash, bandaids, tweezers and a small pair of scissors (you can now carry these on an airplane). Also, deodorant, lip balm and condoms. If you are carrying something requiring batteries, batteries.
Keep the kit well stocked and you’ll never be looking for a CVS on the road.
John Allan’s Dopp kit is the one we prefer. It retails at $420 and is available at Barney’s New York and at John Allan’s. It comes with some great John Allan products.
