“Shave and a haircut-six bits” doesn’t quit capture the ambience of John Allan’s elegant men’s club, located in the heart of New York City’s Wall Street district.
Meing, a 15-year hair-styling veteran of some of the world’s chicest salons, saw men paying top dollar for a simple haircut. “I thought I could offer more,” he syas. “Not just a great haircut, but a manicure, shoeshine and velvet services, too.” And you won’t get bored here; the club also has a billiard room, bar and dart facilities. Started in February 1989, Meing’s pampering palace should clear $200,00 this year.
